#2 by Squirre1 on Thursday, Jun 6 at 12:47 PM This new chip is going to kick a$$... Bout time someone knocked the sh!t out of NVidia for what they did to VooDoo Owners...
#3 by Kagato on Thursday, Jun 6 at 2:24 PM Haha - shame it'll take them a year to get the drivers working right - they may have the right guys in hardware, but their coders must be Microsoft rejects. I'll admit the numbers look nice on paper and would like to see what it can do real- world-wise. I doubt Nvidia will go quietly, their main reason for lagging behind (IMHO) was their waste of time developing the Xbox chip. They're both big names in the industry and a war between the two can only help us gamers.
#4 by Tmmick2000 on Thursday, Jun 6 at 2:43 PM Ati's drivers have been poor in the past. Times have changed though. Ati has consistenly been releasing new driver every 2-3 weeks. I have had my Radeon 8500 for about 4 months now and it works great. I have tested about 30 different games on it and only found one game that would not work.
#5 by Kagato on Thursday, Jun 6 at 3:05 PM Yeah, I've heard some people compliment them on finally stepping up. The major gripping I heard about these cards when they came out was the lack of updates - ATi originally claimed they would release beta's etc. as they became available, but only seemed to release MS certified versions. Nice to hear they're getting things in check - they've been around long enough in the industry that they should know what they're doing.
