Stronghold Warchest

I've been dying to play some multiplayer Stronghold. Is anyone interested in getting together and duking it out.

I was thinking more like in a couple of weeks. Trying to get a couple of others from work to get the game. I heard WalMart has it cheap.

Wal-Mart has the "warchest" cheap? I only have the regular version and not the Crusader, but might pick up the warchest if it's cheap enough. ACtually, I've brought it to the last couple lans hoping someone would want to play. Sad thing is that someone laughed at me when I mentioned it at one of the private lans....

The warchest has dropped to $30. Wal-Mart usually has the same price as BB, minus a few cents. Although, I just looked on their website, and didn't see the warchest listed. The original Stronghold is $20, though; same as BB.

But, yeah, Bong, you should definitely pick it up. It's a pretty fun game. Haven't played the expansion pack for it, but the original was both entertaining and had good gameplay.

It's a medieval strategy game, by the way. A lot of attacking castles and stuff like that. The castles are actually made up of individual walls, unlike a lot of strategy games, where it's just one building you have to take down. You can choose to be a cruel, whip-wielding ruler with lots of discipline, or you can be super-nice with lots of flowers and gardens and stuff. Or anywhere in between. Productivity of your peasants depends highly on how this.

Alright I have been trying to figure out what this game is for the last couple of days. I just havn't heard of it. So it is worth getting then.

Also do you have to get warchest in order to play stronghold? I am just wondering since I havn't ever heard of this game until a couple days ago.

I think warchest is the description used for the combination of the 2 releases of stronghold together....

To add to what Anthos said, the game is a RTS that centers around you building your own castle and using heavy medieval weaponry. It also emphasizes economy as a way to get units. You don't create people, but attract them by your economy and assign them jobs from there. It's a pretty sweet game with some unique features to differentiate it from the rest of my mind. The defenses for your castle are sweet. You can build moats or have people dump boiling tar(think it was tar) over the edge of the wall on attackers.

That's the story of the original game at least. I think the second game, called Stronghold:Crusader if I remember right, added some features and moved it to the middle east like in the crusades.

So far I read:

Squirrel
BurnPilot
Reflex
Rick
Thanatos
Mizzouri

I'll try to set a date later this week. Any other RTS we'd like to play?

How about one of the "Total War" ones?
