10 Games you are looking forward to in 2004

Ok, so I'm got the idea for this thead from the latest issue of PC Gamer. When I read over thier games list though, I couldn't help but wonder what got left out. Here's the start of my list (will finish it this evening after work and class), it's a mixture of PC and Gamecube games.

PC

Battlefield Vietnam
Dungeon Siege 2
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Soldner

Gamecube

Final Fantasy: Crystal Cronicals
Star Craft Ghost

The new Pirates! by sid Meier
The final release of NS 3.0

and that's about all I know of that I'm even remotly interested in.

I'll second that one! Only two games I give a hoot for in 2004 are UT2K4 and DOOM III, that and maybe WoW if they get it out on time. On the WoW note, they're opening registration tomorrow at 6pm for folks to sign up to try and get in on the next Beta round.

Oh right, obligatory Half life two is to be mentioned, assuming its actually going to be out this year.

I was going to mention that one, as well.

UT 2004
HL2 (this year?)
Splinter Cell 2
CS:CZ

I guess I'd have to include Dungeon Siege 2 and BF Vietnam, although I hadn't heard of them.

Northland looks like something ouf of which I'd get a kick.

There's another Rainbow 6 game coming out.

Soldner, I think I'd probably include, as well.

There are a couple other ones that I haven't taken a close look at, but which strike interest. For example, the new LOTR game, this fall.

On a side WoW note, the registration lasts until 6pm(that would be PST, or 8pm your time) Feb. 4th, and is not on a first come first serve basis. Also, if you have more than one registration per household, then you are SOL!

Anyone got a link for the beta?

Games I look forward to:

XBOX:
ESPN Baseball (Live Enabled)
ESPN NFL 2004 (Live Enabled)
Halo 2 (Live Enabled)
Sega Gt Online (Live Enabled)
Worms 3D (Live Enabled)
Maybe Starcraft (need more info)
XBOX needs a C&C type game as well! I would surely buy that.

XBOX RELEASES

I also want to get a glimpse of the Nintendo DS. The 2 screen hand-held.[

Wow looks like I'm the only one looking forward to Doom III. I don't think the multiplayer if there is any will be good, but I think the game itself looks awesome. And of course most people will buy the engine and so on.....

Other than that I really don't look forward to future releases, I buy stuff that's been out for a year or so,

I think Doom III is going to be kewl as well but it is going to be real intense at the same time... Alot of new games are going to require some upgrades...

I don't know, I can't escape the feeling that Doom 3 is going to be nothing more than a glorified tech demo.

"Ohhhh.... look at the purdy lights and colors, look at the high detail models. You want to pay us to use this engine for your game."

It just seems like there is going to be no substanance to the game and blowing away things mindless will get old real quick for me.

I also expect the stryline to be lacking, but hey, it's Doom, I want scary things jumping at me from the dark. Other people will make the fun games from the engine for multiplayer.

As far as system requirements I'm sure it will be playable on some old equipment, but not look as good. I swear I read a review where their approach to the graphics will make it a lot less intense on the CPU and VidCard, without losing the look of the game. That was supposed to be their reason for going with bumpmapping over higher polygons, if I remeber the article correctly of course.

Oh, you mean another Quake 3? Yeah, I'm not super excited about Doom 3.

Here's my two cents:

Splinter Cell 2: Pandora Tomorrow
X-Men Legends
Final Fantasy XI (After school is finito)

Starcraft Ghost (Damn you Blizzard!!!!!!!)
