'Tis the power of ty-po... An ancient form of battle designed specifically for text based interactions.

For the record you are victim number 1,254,567 of this ancient art form. Congratulations.

This thread sucks pretty bad by the way.

Posted by Anthos on 12-19-2005 09:04 PM:

That's probably why I'm enjoying it so much.

I like how MWGL has turned into a circle-jerk between about 10 people, and when new people come to the forums they always suck in some way.

I'm not being sarcastic, I really do like that.

Lol. So what's it going to take for it to get back to the glory days? Please provide mature ideas.

Posted by Reflex on 12-20-2005 02:41 PM:

I didn't even like the "glory days" as much as the LANs we have now.

I hear ya, the 12-16 man LANs are much easier to manage. Now if we could just eliminate the guys who come just to play single player games, show up with machines that need reformatted, stare at porn all night, and the ever annoying group that wants to switch to another game every 2 hours (which is impossible since hardly anyone has all the games). Personally, I'd like to see more people host a LAN of their own, but the ol 80/20 rule gets in the way of that as usual.

I'd host a LAN.. but I live in the middle of nowhere... ANd my video card is out so I couldn't play anything anyhow... And the games *I* enjoy are different from most everyone else.

But I still enjoyed going and being a part of the "community" that was there...

I'd host a LAN, but...um...Oh, yes...I have a small apartment and we'd have to put the cats out on the patio. Oh, right...and I'm halfway across the country.

Check this out, though.

Well, I could host a LAN here at the lake. I can rent out the clubhouse for 24 hours for $150 plus a $200 deposit. I wouldn't mind doing this too much as long as something horrible doesn't happen and I get stuck with the bill.

It's really nice, it has a full kitchen and even a big smoker outside, it would probably fit 50 people or more if we really needed it to.

Sounds sweet come summer time.

Posted by Reflex on 12-22-2005 11:07 AM:

It has long tables and fold-out chairs, it would really be perfect, and I wouldn't mind hosting if it you guys can help me out.

Posted by Mizzouri on 12-22-2005 11:13 AM:

The way to ensure helping out is to have a cover charge which you could (partially) refund when poeple help. It's sad when you realize just how few people help in the setting up or (especailly) the clean up.

Posted by Reflex on 12-22-2005 11:26 AM:

I have a friend who works at Tiquila Harry's who can get me a huge taco bar with like two trashbags full of tortilla chips and and all the fixens for like $100.

I would want probably around 20 people if I rented that, at 20 people, I would probably charge $20 a person for the LAN plus the food, and then give $5 of it back when they help clean up.

That's def a bargain to me.
