Arrow Active users

This appears to be a good site, although it seems to be past its prime and is dead or dying. I for one think it is savable and everyone should now post just once in this thread for an active head count.

Ok...this site has alot of potential, there needs to be a topic for posts that are purely for entertainment...well members for starters, I dont think their are many active members and some good advertisement. If you get the right members they can spark their own fire.

Stryke297, there's generally a lot of activity when a LAN is on the event horizon. I've been so busy playing DAD that I haven't the time to do one. I'll be optimistic about the first of the year though.

OK Krogue you got me, I can only think of 2 things that are more important than that, and ok so the yearly date IS ALMOST A YEAR OLD : D but what about the updates that seem to be daily untill they stop in september, and KaiserRoll most kids these days are retarded and only except what is handed to them and then if they dont feel like it they just say nah, they need advertisement even the good gamers dont have a chance finding this site, unless I am sorely mistaken.

I'm not dead!

The Dead Collector: Bring out yer dead.
[a man puts a body on the cart]
Large Man with Dead Body: Here's one.
The Dead Collector: That'll be ninepence.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not dead.
The Dead Collector: What?
Large Man with Dead Body: Nothing. There's your ninepence.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not dead.
The Dead Collector: 'Ere, he says he's not dead.
Large Man with Dead Body: Yes he is.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm not.
The Dead Collector: He isn't.
Large Man with Dead Body: Well, he will be soon, he's very ill.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I'm getting better.
Large Man with Dead Body: No you're not, you'll be stone dead in a moment.
The Dead Collector: Well, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I don't want to go on the cart.
Large Man with Dead Body: Oh, don't be such a baby.
The Dead Collector: I can't take him.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I feel fine.
Large Man with Dead Body: Oh, do me a favor.
The Dead Collector: I can't.
Large Man with Dead Body: Well, can you hang around for a couple of minutes? He won't be long.
The Dead Collector: I promised I'd be at the Robinsons'. They've lost nine today.
Large Man with Dead Body: Well, when's your next round?
The Dead Collector: Thursday.
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I think I'll go for a walk.
Large Man with Dead Body: You're not fooling anyone, you know. Isn't there anything you could do?
The Dead Body That Claims It Isn't: I feel happy. I feel happy.
[the Dead Collector glances up and down the street furtively, then silences the Body with his a whack of his club]
Large Man with Dead Body: Ah, thank you very much.
The Dead Collector: Not at all. See you on Thursday.
Large Man with Dead Body: Right.

I like how MWGL has turned into a circle-jerk between about 10 people, and when new people come to the forums they always suck in some way.

I'm not being sarcastic, I really do like that.

Posted by Mizzouri on 12-20-2005 12:10 AM:

Lol. So what's it going to take for it to get back to the glory days? Please provide mature ideas.

Posted by Reflex on 12-20-2005 02:41 PM:

I didn't even like the "glory days" as much as the LANs we have now.

Posted by Mizzouri on 12-20-2005 05:54 PM:

I hear ya, the 12-16 man LANs are much easier to manage. Now if we could just eliminate the guys who come just to play single player games, show up with machines that need reformatted, stare at porn all night, and the ever annoying group that wants to switch to another game every 2 hours (which is impossible since hardly anyone has all the games). Personally, I'd like to see more people host a LAN of their own, but the ol 80/20 rule gets in the way of that as usual.

Posted by KCShadowDragon on 12-20-2005 11:25 PM:

I'd host a LAN.. but I live in the middle of nowhere... ANd my video card is out so I couldn't play anything anyhow... And the games *I* enjoy are different from most everyone else.

But I still enjoyed going and being a part of the "community" that was there...

I'd host a LAN, but...um...Oh, yes...I have a small apartment and we'd have to put the cats out on the patio. Oh, right...and I'm halfway across the country.

Check this out, though.

Well, I could host a LAN here at the lake. I can rent out the clubhouse for 24 hours for $150 plus a $200 deposit. I wouldn't mind doing this too much as long as something horrible doesn't happen and I get stuck with the bill.

It's really nice, it has a full kitchen and even a big smoker outside, it would probably fit 50 people or more if we really needed it to.

Posted by Mizzouri on 12-21-2005 10:15 PM:

Sounds sweet come summer time.

Posted by Reflex on 12-22-2005 11:07 AM:

It has long tables and fold-out chairs, it would really be perfect, and I wouldn't mind hosting if it you guys can help me out.

Posted by Mizzouri on 12-22-2005 11:13 AM:

The way to ensure helping out is to have a cover charge which you could (partially) refund when poeple help. It's sad when you realize just how few people help in the setting up or (especailly) the clean up.

Posted by Reflex on 12-22-2005 11:26 AM:

I have a friend who works at Tiquila Harry's who can get me a huge taco bar with like two trashbags full of tortilla chips and and all the fixens for like $100.

I would want probably around 20 people if I rented that, at 20 people, I would probably charge $20 a person for the LAN plus the food, and then give $5 of it back when they help clean up.

Posted by Mizzouri on 12-22-2005 02:55 PM:

That's def a bargain to me.

Posted by CCMC on 12-22-2005 05:24 PM:

Also, every time I post I get about 19 times as much spam for the week afterwards.
