I bought the Gamecube and MarioKart DD. I rented Mario Melee - looks to be a cool game - to bad Blockbuster doesnt give you the instructions (jackasses). I can see the game has alot more than button mashing to include combos.

In my opinion the GC is for the mario lovers, and pretty much those nintendo only games (Zelda). Although I would love to hear from GC fans, because I am obviously new to the GC scene.

Dang it, if you want suggestions say what types of games you like Everyone has different tastes, and while I would recommend Nintendo's mainstays to most anyone there's still some pretty good non-Nintendo games on the Cube.

On the console, I am more of a sports title guy. I also like games like Midnight Club and Sega GT. THe big thing is that most of the games I enjoy are online capable. For the gamecube it would be games that I could play with my wife. She likes Mario Kart (we already own that). Any other games that fall into Mario Kart's realm (not necessarily racing) that I could play with the wife?

Mario Golf is good, Mario Tennis should be out soon too. Beach Spikers isn't a Mario game, but it's the volleyball game a lot of us were playing a couple events back and is really good. Both the Monkey Ball games would definitely be good to play with your wife. Animal Crossing is a single player game she might like.

Monkey Balls are the bomb!! So is Beach Spikers. Other than that, I don't really know. Just wanted to affirm.
