I don't get how it's an invasion of privacy...If no human ever reads the message, other than the intended recipient(s)...?? I have no problem at all with targeted advertising initiated by spiders. I don't pay attention to them much, anyway. I never even realized Google did that with the search engine, until this Gmail thing came about.

This will not pass because the option of using gmail is by selection only. They are not forced to use it and as long as they are informed of its functionality before hand can not be held liable for the processes that they do...

I know. It's completely retarded. It's completely voluntary. Naturally, you'll have to "agree to let the spiders scan your emails", but who the hell cares?

Pretty much sums it all up though, doesn't it. We have a large number of old men making laws that affect all of us and don't have a clue what they are doing. All they know is that someone is shoving money into their pockets. Sad, very sad.

someday, when we get big, we will have a chance to make some more laws that affect our generation and I am sure that they will be more informed than the pin-heads we have now. :-)

later,
