A few questions.

I noticed that Computer Depot is just down the street from where I live in Lee's Summit. I was just wondering how often you guys play together, and if you do smaller to midsized groups on occasion? I really miss my buds back in Springfield, MO (see SGA LANPyre http://www.sgalanpyre.com/) but I had to come to where the work is.

I have quite a background building and networking computers (and playing games on them too), but my full-time passion is actually testing prescription drugs (let me clarify that....I'm a chemist).

I'd love to frag...err meet some local folks who share a common interest and perhaps pack my machine up once more to have some fun now and then. Don't expect too much of a time commitment from me though, as I have an 8month old boy at home who is a handful to say the least. Just thought I'd introduce myself and hopefully get some insight into your group.

Later,
Golgatha

Hey!

Welcome to the area. Well, to let you in on where we are....

We have switched locations from the good people at universal lan to Computer Depot. Universal lan was the ultimate place, but they moved on. So, the Computer Depot...We are now starting to LAN there and will obviously start small, and work our way back up to the LAN we want to be again. It kinda sucks to go from 120 peeps to 50 and under. But, the Computer Depot folks will allow us to grow and put on some great events.

We are best known for our competitive, professional tourneys. We hope to treat KC to some soon. If you wanna stop by the First Sunday Computer Expo (13420 Oak Street Lenexa, KS) tomorrow (SUNDAY obviously), we will be there like 8 or 9 till 3 or 4. Stop by, its free (if you come to game - not sure how much it is to see the expo if your not a gamer)! There wont be too many of us there because of those pesky jobs, but we will definately do some gaming. I will be bringing the consoles as well.

Good to hear from you

Just for your info Computer Depot is working with me in opening up a self-help/LAN section at their Overland Park location. We are envisioning setting up similar to Universal LAN on a smaller level. We have even suggested having more than one LAN per month if the numbers come in good. I am negotiating having a lot of events in self-help computer repairs and seminars for home/business users. Come on out to our LAN and frag with us!

No pesky job tomorrow, but my wife and son are coming back and I haven't seen them all week. However, they won't be back until noonish, so I might stop by to check things out and introduce myself. Reason I quoted above is because I was wondering if you needed an extra PS2, or some extra games for a bit?

Darn it all!

My wife decided to come back around 9:30ish today instead of noonish. Obviously, I didn't show up today and that is why. Hopefully, I can make it to another event one of these days.
