June 18th LAN Event

I thought I would start this thread to kind of keep everyone up to date on where we are with our LAN Tournament on June 18th. I will be on the air today (980 AM KMBZ) doing a segment on gaming. The show is The Computer Hour with Dale Griffin the owner of Computer Depot. I will be setting up my rigs at the store June 1st and 2nd allowing customers to check out not only my rigs but promoting our LAN Tournament. The show is at 2pm -3pm if you would like to listen or they will have a audio stream of the show on their website www.computerhour.com . If any members of MwGL would like to come by the store I will be there all day both days.

I will be at the OP store 7620 Metcalf. I will have two computers set up for customers to come check out the rigs, play some games, and give them some information about the LAN Tournament.

I haven't been to the OP store in a while, but I don't remember there being a whole lot of room in there. Of course, they could always move stuff around to make room for your rigs.

Well we did the store display and passed out flyers for the LAN. We also got asked to do an additional day since they were going to be doing a live feed for the Russ Johnson (980am) Show on Thursday. I will be doing that from 3-6pm. The numbers are slow coming in for this LAN and we all need to do some pimping for this tournament. I will post the flyer so you all can print some up to pass on to friends. I am having a banner printed up for display at the store front as another way to attract people. Any suggestions? We still have a couple of weeks to go so if you can think of anything please post it.

Consider buying a banner ad on the SA forums, costs 10 dollars. Tons and tons and tons of traffic. Plus a lot of them are from the KC area.

I have a bunch of Far Cry posters I got from Ubisoft you can use as door prizes, if you'd like. They sent 10 or 15 of them in one of those triangular UPS cardboard deals and I haven't taken them out to count them. PM or email me if you want them.

I'm going to try and get to this LAN, but a lot depends on what my other half has planned for us that weekend.

By the way, I stuck around Computer Depot and got to be on the Russ Johnson show! I donated some money for phone cards for the troops and Russ asked me to come on the show live, so I did about 3 minutes with him. The cool thing is that he did a free plug for our LAN Tournament on his show! How cool is that! I also talked to Mark Miller who's on the admin side of KMBZ 980 and he wants to pimp our LAN on the Jason Whitlock/Bill Maas sports show. I let him and his son play on one of my rigs and he thought it was pretty cool so lets see if that will help. I am trying to get the word out any way that I can....

Definetly. Ground Control 2 may be out then, and that would be killer. I would bring copies for everyone. Or maybe heroes of WW2, another great RTS.

I like SC, but I really suck at it. Same with Warcraft3. I suppose we can still play some though. I have a copy of Rise of Nations and the expansion, so we might play that.

Counter-Strike would not be a problem. Just started tinkering with that again. Thank god for the built in buy script.

Kagato, UT2K4 sounds cool. Me Kaiser and Mojo played that mutation mod (i think that is it) where the only people who can score are the person mutated and the "bottom feeder" (last position). Everyone else runs around trying not to get fragged by the person mutated while trying to frag the mutated one. Damn that description sucks....Anyways hell yes - very excited to see you again!

The problem I have with CS is that I have tons and tons of problems with steam, I have a legit key, and I still have 15 different kinds of problems. It's really frusterating. CS 1.5 would be more up my alley.

They serve somewhat different purposes. Anti-TCC is a nice little anti cheating mod, a little better than UTsecure (And made by my friend wormbo no less) .

TTM is a tournament style mod that adds hitsounds, warmups, and brightskins to players. any of which can be disabled on the serverside or clientside. I mention TTM instead of TCM now, because I realize the new version is out.

TTM2k4 can be found at www.planetunreal.com/ttm

Your server packages will have to be configured for anti tcc, but no longer for TTM.
