With my discount @ BB, with FedEx 2-day shipping and before MIR, and w/o the HSF (haven't bought that, yet) it's $1279.94. I'm going to see how the stock HSF works, since I don't have plans to OC at the moment. I'll be getting $30 MIR from the burner and the BFG has an employee accomodation that will give me the difference between employee price and 10% below cost back as a MIR. Oh, plus I bought a UPS for about $50-$60, as well (put on wife's BB card w/discount). Retailed at $129, so that's not a bad deal .

Tax refund. The fact that I've never gotten this big of a tax refund before. The fact that my wife said I could do whatever I wanted with whatever we got. The fact that I've never had any sort of a high-end machine before & I want it to play HL2, EQ2, etc. with good graphics and framerates.

Sounds like you got it all together!!

I'm glad that you went with AMD, you made the right choice. The BFG 6600 was a good choice as well. I love my BFG 6800GT OC very much!! an awesome card to say the least!!

You should bring it over sometime and show it off.

Later,

Hehe...next time I'm not half way across the country, I might do that ...Maybe I'll take pics w/ my digi and post them somewhere. And might I add that RAID-0 is awesome! Installed XP in about 12 minutes . Also that silent boost fan is very quiet! Idle case temp is 35C, idle proc is 39C.
