*** Moved *** August 26th LAN

Ok, ok, so I said that I'd have one in June. Well, I've been working my butt off on side projects that have gone on forever. Euff of that! I'm moving to a new house in early August, so we'll have more room to play. If possible I'd like to round up 20-25 people for said event. Enough people so that the main body can play COD2 (or whatever) and others can drift in and out of other games. Please let me know what you'd like to play and let me know in advance if you are coming.

By the way, there will be the usual beer, soda, chips, and some grilling.

Not in early August. August 4th weekend, Kecia has the Iowa Association of Pediatric Dentist conference in Okoboji, IA, and then the weekend of August 12th is our softball block party weekend.

August 19th would be a possibility ... if it was middle of the month.

I will be coming down for a long stay (4-5 days) in October more than likely. So, if I miss this one, maybe we can do something then.

What's the game list as of this point? I'm not interested in CoD at all, but might be interested in coming if there would be Raven Shield and BF2. If there was some BF2 (there's co-op now) I might be able to get a couple people to come as well.

I believe I will be down that weekend. Got preliminary approval from the wife last night. She is on call that weekend, so I do still need to make sure that Lori or Emily will be around that weekend, in case Kecia gets called into an emergency and has to drop Ben off at someone's house to go in to surgery, since I will be gone.

Pat, how much space do you have .... enough for how many guys .... and do we have a current rough head count. Because, if we have some extra space, I am gonna also check with Joe, Cable, Ken, and Mike and see if any of them want to come down as well.

And, Burn. I know myself and the Iowa City contingent would all be gung-ho for Raven Shield. And, I do know that, although I am not a big fan, Cabel is a huge COD fan. So, if he comes down, he would be super-psyched for that.

This is going to be at Ben's house and not mine unless he changes his mind. We have space for 20-25 easy. If we can get 20-25 then we can play 2 games at once no problemo. I haven't taken a head count but bring all you can. My house is the backup if we go over 25. If there is enuff demand for R6 then you guys know I'm down. I'll tell Ben it'll be on the menu. Where is Reflex? It just wouldn't be the same without Mr. Dance dance Revolution. ROFL.

I'd like to come but I usally work friday thru tuesday. Unless I can see if I can trade shifts with someone. I'll let you know once I find out.

Hey, I joined the army.

I won't be shipped then, so I'll be there as long as Squirrel or somebody can give me a ride.

Yeah, I joined the army as a MLRS Crewmember. I'm excited.

Congrats on joining the army. Definitely did not see this coming. A ride will be arranged (as usual :P).

My game proposal for this event is Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter.

I have been playing it and the multiplayer looks like it would be a blast, all kinds of fun gametypes.

The only problem is that some people may not have a beefy enough system to run it. In that case, I'm all for CoD2.

Always in the mood for a little old school COD2 action... OMG did I just call COD2 Old School...

I am so behind on games now, it is not even funny.

Hey gang, do to a number of requests from other gamers we're going to move this forward one week ~ Aug 26th. Sorry for any inconvenience.

F**K. Alright, well that means that Cabel, Ken and I are out. That is Security Deposit return weekend for us at work, and I can't go out of town.

I guess I will hopefully see everyone in October.

Naw, that 19th weekend was my only free weekend until late September/early October.

The next 5 weekends go:

Aug 26 - Pre-Broker Real Estate Classes on Friday and Security Deposits all weekend
Sep 02 - Labor Day Weekend with Family
Sep 09 - Condo Work Day
Sep16 - Iowa vs. Iowa State game (I have to watch the kids during the game)
Sep 23 - 1-inch Invititational Weekend (Softball team getaway to play golf, gamble, and check out the strip clubs)

Then I am free Sep. 30, but by that point, I will be down the next weekend on October 7th. So, we will just have to get together then. I'll let the guys know that it got moved. Maybe we will just put a little LAN together here to help satiate our appetite.

Regardless of if we LAN next weekend or not, I would like to see some of you before I go to training, because that will take 4 months and the chances of me coming back any time soon after that are somewhat slim.

The move from BS to GV has taken the life out of me. I just got internet back this morning, 2 weeks without really blows. To the point however, the problem in planing this lan event is not with me but is due to trying to coordinate this and host it at Ben's house. He and his cronies keep pushing back week after week. I tried (in vain) last night to pin down a date but got nowhere. I know this has caused a LOT of confusion and angst so I am going to move away from planning LANS at other people's houses and go back to the way it has always worked...I pick the date and set it in stone. Having said that let's pick a date, after the 26th, and set it in stone, Let's say Sept 9. Reflex, I am sooo sorry that we won't be able to lan one more time before you ship out. Once again, sorry this has caused problems but the resolution is to have these at my house going forward.

Hmm, well, I was really looking forward to this, but I guess I'll have to live.

Could I possibly arrange a ride with someone for this? My other ride fell through.

Kyle when are you coming in to town in October? Are you going to bring any of your guys? Since I'm not getting a lot of response maybe we should shoot for then?

I am planning on coming down to Kansas City the weekend of the 7th through the 9th. I originally was planning on staying with Rick on Friday and Saturday and seeing family on Sunday and Monday. However .... Rick (and probably Brian) are going to be working that weekend because their office is moving. I left a voice mail on Rick's phone the other day checking to see if he could get Monday off then, so we could hang out Sunday and Monday, but I have not heard from him yet.

So, if Sunday and Monday work for him (and Squirrel if applicable), then maybe we could get together Saturday night and play through some of the day Sunday. Then those interested in the Renaissance Festival could take off work and go out with me on Monday to the Faire.

I have not yet heard back from Rick on this question, but if you talk to him before I do, see if this works. I really would love to see some of you guys while I am in town.
