Does anyone know if you can setup a SUN box to handle the same services as a 2k server; DHCP, WINS, etc?

Yes, it can. What Sun box is it by chance? There are even builds of linux for sun machines. (and I think there are builds of freebsd as well, but i am not familiar with freebsd at all to know for certian)

It's a SUN Ultra 10 running Solaris 9. I was thinking file server and client services.

Solaris has a dhcpd server, but, I think you might be better off loading Linux on that machine. Just me personal opinion of course...
