An individual playing competitively is not the same as having a team compete. Sure, there may be 1 or 2 guys that play the game a lot and may be pretty darn good at it. However, MwGL has always been centered around having fun with a bunch of friends playing computer games. We don't generally devote our money first and foremost to our rigs to have a competitive edge. Sure, we like to have nice machines and all, but there is food to put on the table, bills to pay, rent to pay, etc. I don't know the make up of your clan, specifically; but most clans that play competitively (i.e., in leagues, ladders, etc.) are composed of younger kids that don't deal with that as much and can devote that kind of time and expense to the game and their machine. The idea of a friendly scrimmage to me, at least, is one where we go into a match and play as hard as we can on a fair and even basis. To me, that includes having the same number of people on each side, alternating map/team choices, and starting the game when EVERYONE is present to begin.
