It's not so much like tribes.... It's too fast, and you can get places without walking for 15 minutes. It's got a few similarities, its just... not the same.

My clan is running a dedicated server for UT 2k4 if you are interested in playing the demo. ShamikaServer.com on the server list should get you there. We have been having a full load most nights which makes for awesome gaming..

Onslaught is scarily a ton like tribes. fighting for outposts and such. Air is a big factor in Onslaught, as it was in tribes, and the vehicles handle (the air vehicles) exactly like tribes.

I fell in love with Onslaught, dont care for much else except bombing run.

DeathsDoor, is your server Onslaught ? hehe

In my opinion, the assault map that they have chosen is beautiful but small. this happens to be one of my favorite gaming types. Its pits man against man in a constant struggle to acheive objectives and conquor the other team. i know that I beat the map in a bot match in just a couple of minutes and then managed to defend it for the entire time. It was very fast and also exciting. Besides the bombing run game and the onslaught, I think that 2k4 will be played at my house for a long time.

But, then Doom3 and HL2 will come out and then I'll have a real problem deciding which game to play. Ug, decisions decisions.

UT2k4, HL2, D3, DE:IW, Halo, Tron2.0, Desert Combat. What ever shall I do???

UT2004 will be my tournament game until around Quake4. Half Life 2 I will probably play casually like I do Quake3 now. Fatal1ty, Porky, myself, and two other people are going to go play in a UT2k3 TDM tourney in April, we are still looking for two more players by the way. It's a $500 tournament and it looks like it will be a simple win. Free money, yay.

Need... more... demo.... overload... turning... to... darkside.... Memorized... maps.... know... each... nook... every... spawn....
Bah... I feel like I'm turning into some of these CS players who every every detail of a map memorized due to playing it incessantly... I've been driven (no pun intended) to earning as many Daredevil points as I can now. I'd love to say I'm going insane... but this is MUCH more FUN!
