When I first heard about this show, I pushed it aside thinking it would be just another mediocre sci-fi flick. I've just recently saw the mini-series and the 13 episode first season, and all I have to say is WOW!!
There is only one show that I greatly anticipate for week after week, and that is 24. But now I have to add this show to that very short list. In some ways, I think it may be the better of the two. At times, it even rivals, dare I say, Star Wars (OT)! I can't wait until season two starts this summer!
I highly recommend people to check out the new Battlestar Galactica.

I already watch it and cant wait for season 2. The only show I watch that is just as good to me is Stargate SG-1, which is now going to go into its 8th season. and Stargate Atlantis which shoudl be going into its 3rd season.

Meh, I stopped watching after the mini-series - just doesn't really interest me much. I'm sure somebody thought it was a great idea tol watch Baltar fsck the cylon every 5 minutes in flashbacks / acid trips - yeah, that couldn't POSSIBLY get old right? The plot, or lack thereof, is simply mind numbing, of course that could be partially due to the shallow characters and their cookie cutter personalities. I'm simply floored that it made it all the way through a single season and even got picked up for second. I'd rather be forced to watch Stargate Atlantis at gunpoint (because that's what it would take) than this corn-laden turd of a show. At least SG-1 is still doing well, though that had to be the worst season finale I've ever seen in it's 7 season running. I wish they'd bring back Farscape - at least Ben is coming over to SG-1 for Season 8.

I'm digging the new BG. I'm sure there aren't too many here who watched the original in the late 70s. Too me it's a nice twist on the orignal series' plot. Sure there are a couple of weakenesses but every Sci-Fi has a few. And yeah, the blond Cylcon is nice eye candy.
