After playing about 5 min of the new R6 demo I can't play anymore. They've butchered it. It's some god aweful console hybrid now. The graphics in Lockdown are a step back from Raven Shield is the first thing you will notice. The next thing is that the interface is much more consolish. Despite things things I still managed to give it at least 5 min of a try. You can no longer peak while strafing around corners. You do it for a moment then get stopped cold. The guns feel light weight and non-lethal in the gameplay. The AI is incredibly stupid. It all feels so wrong. I had bad feelings when watching the intro movie, Rainbows not wearing helmets etc, just felt wrong. Unless there is a massive change before the final release, the Rainbow 6 series ends at Raven Shield and it's expansion for me, beyond that, it's dead to me. Thanks for screwing up the series Ubisoft.

I was really anticipating the release as well and was very excited to see a demo had come out. It doesn't feel like the same game anymore to me. It truly is just a console game ported to the pc

dude Lockdown is no longer rainbow six its now "FPSRPG" its a totally new engine its a new game. its no longer a strategized game its pray and spray and well placed frags.

Then they should take the damn Rainbow Six name off of it then. Damn motherf***ing game companies keep screwing up my favorite games and putting out s**t watered down console clones for my PC.

For crying out loud. There has always been only one FPS family of games that all of us have been able to agree upon at any LAN event. Rainbow Six. From the original R6, to R6: Eagle Watch, R6-2: Rogue Spear and Urban Operations, to R6-3: Raven Shield ... these games have always been a mainstay with our little clan of fragmasters.

Gonna be real disappointed to see this history stop at Raven Shield, just because the profit margin is greater when you sell to the lowest common denominator (the console gamer).

Yeah Krogue, there was just something about the series. For me, I loved it because tactics mattered as much if not more than reaction. You may be the fastest twitcher in the world, but if you rush around the wrong corner, bang, you're dead. The suspense of whether or not the bleep you are getting on the other side of your wall is a person or a hb puck. The game was more suspenseful overall than other fps. Dang it, now I'm wanting to lan Raven Shield....

I never tried any Ghost Recon beyond the first. Was the second one any good? It came out for the consoles first as well if I remember correctly, they probably screwed it up too. Anyway, I also have Ghost Recon and all it's expansions and am surprised we haven't played it at a lan yet.

As of right now, the only realistic fps I'm looking forward to is whatever they are going to call "Operation Flashpoint 2". I heard they couldn't name it that for some reason and had to come up with a new name for it.

What the F**K. What was UBI even thinking .... not only did they make the game sh*t, but they only have 4 player coop in terrorist hunt. 4 player? Have they never heard of a LAN event. Do they not even read any of the easily available gaming magazines which constantly talk about the fact that the trend is to allow more people to play in the same game environment at once. BF2, UT2004, Q3, .... every other game on the market ... all of them allow for massive amounts of players. For chrissake, even RTS's allow at least 8 players in a game.

Oh, wait 4 people is exactly the number of controllers you can have on a console. That is an interesting coincidence. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I am so pissed off about this. I never really realized how attached I was to the RS6 series until now. I can say without out a doubt, that this will be the first RS6 game I have not purchased, and never will. So Sad.
