Let's clear up a few things...

4v4 is massive when the other players involved are coming from all around just to try to serve you up a plate of humble pie and walk away with some winnings. If the numbers aren't massive enough for you, the competition should be. Beyond that, take a look at the list of all the games: http://www.gameriot.com/game/index.html
Massive is the only appropriate word for the event.

Also, MTV is just a sponsor and so what if they're responsible for giving away a bunch of free stuff you'd have to pay for otherwise. This competition was still created by gamers to create some intense open battling. Something this big is going to need people to pick up some checks for. The competition isn't about who's name is on the door, it's about making it on to the score board.

No offense DevilwithHalo, but pretty much every person on this Board spent 3 or 4 of the last 6 years playing at 100+ person LANs with some of the best players in PC Gaming (does the name Fatal1ty ring a bell). So, yeah we do know what the terms "MASSIVE" and "COMPETITION" are.

How about giving us some numbers on playable PC's available at each event, and how much time people get to play on each machine .... 8 computers on a 18-wheeler is nothing to be impressed with, when local PC Gaming Centers often boast 40-80 networked PCs on a 24-hour basis. If you want to impress PC Gaming message board trolls, you gotta come up with something better. Not to mention the fact that you are doing this at the "Beaumont Club" ???? Are gamers in Kansas City known as big cowboy music and cowboy bar fans???? Who was the locations genuis that thought of this??? How about out at O.P. or out in Independece or Lees Summit at one of the large malls???

The whole concept seemes kinda half-ass done on the PC side.

Guys, we should not be so critical in attacking him but more or less give him ideas on how to make it better... I dont want us to fall into the trap that the other groups did whne we asked for information or tried something new...

I myself have not looked at any of the details and it personally does no interest me so just be gentle...

Devil, I hate to dis online but I guess our group is just not the kind of people who you might see crowded around a stage. Several of us are over 30 and really don't feel MTV fits our pesonality. Also, I am a phat Redneck and I've had better looking women than this. Squirre1 is complete waste of life and he has had even better! Come on! With MTV can't you get some better looking hoes than that .. hell even the Jew has had better looking chicks .. and he didn't pay for all of them!

Plasma Screens are cool and all but I am fat and old .. I wanna sit in a comfy chair and get schooled .. to hell with standing around to get my @ss beat!

Ok, enough with the trash talk! Thanks for letting us know about your event but its not something most of us are in to. I am glad to see the gaming scene is making such big strides and I am happy you guys are making it big. Good luck and best wishes.

truth is, i do appreciate the feedback positive and negative alike. its good to know what the LAN die-hards want and arent getting, what they like, what they don't- it's just good to hear feedback from every direction. im glad that people that defend me as a knowledge bringer and those that slam me for an ad paster. bottom line is, all your feedback goes somewhere and helps to create a better event next year that hopefully more people can enjoy. the people who put these things together want people to come and have a good time and enjoy themselves! if you wouldn't, they want to know why so you might actually want to go next year. any other beef or suggestions- please post back. anyone actually going to the event? id love to see that on this forum...
