You wouldn't be paying $30. We dropped the price of the lan to account for the lack of refreshments. It's only 15 if you prepay or 20 at the door.

I'm paying $30... at least I should say already paid. Granted I'm bringing 2 machines. But that's only because I understand the true concept of a lite event.

TO JUST HAVE FUN

Not to worry about tourneys and rivalries or prizes... just get together hook up, have fun, and waste away a good 36 hours. Can ya tell I still don't get how this is such a dumb idea??? I mean where else can you hook together up to 120 people for a little get together??

This is a LITE event and has no intention of being a FULL event... Bruce has offered to host a tournament at the event with our servers and we have no problems with that... We still have expenses we need to cover... At the same time, we can not get any better as a group unless we have the support of the attendees, meaning everyone wants to play but noone wants to pay... We turn the funds into purchasing new equiptment for the events and from the last event we dropped $300 for new prizes... We will be doing that as well with the funds from this event.. So if you want to say "come on now", then understand what you are saying come on now about.

The funny this is everyone thinks the members get shit for this.. The funny thing is they don't all the money goes back into making the events better, bigger, better prizes. So enough with the bitching...

Valor won the last event hehe.. anyways.. i'm not here to brag. I just drive-by reading the forums and figured i'd make a post here

They didn't change all MWGL events to non-CS tournament events. If they didn't run a "lite" event then the next MWGL probably wouldn't be for a few months. They just want to get together more times a year without having to run an event each time.

I still plan on going just to hang out... it should be fun.

lol i just dont understand why u would want to pay to play a game somewhere away from home where half the kids are stuck with no rides, with no food/drink and shit like that. i would definately rather sit at home and have people come lan or goto someone elses house for free and lan

But that is just my opinion

Wow - you guys are... sad.

You have no idea what a real LAN is like, do you? Have you ever run a LAN yourself for more than, say, a dozen of your "buds"? For most of you, the answer is no. For most of you, you don't even know what a 1000 person LAN looks like. Regardless, you have no idea the time, work, and effort-- before, during and after-- that goes into each event!

As a former Lawrence Frag Fest staff member, I do have an idea of the amount of work - and it is tremendous. So much so, in fact, that during full events, I rarely had time to do anything other than help setup and participate in one tournament - I know how the staff members feel.

Finally, this LITE is nothing but a TEST. If it flops, it'll be the last. Judging by the fact that there are 70+ members signed up, and over 50 prepaid - I do NOT anticipate it being a flop. Thus, before you make a hate post and flame the "nubs" for their "retarded" idea - give it a try, or at least have the decency to make your opinion clear in an intelligent and mature fashion.

For any of you idiots who think you are 'leet' and you 'rox0r the world' with your 'mad skillz' - lose the attitude, and then come find me at the mwgl for a chance to get your foot shoved in your mouth.
