CS: Condition Zero on March 23rd quote:

Well supposedly it's finally coming out. I know many of us played it at one time or another but is it too little to late now? Seems like Valve is just trying to milk the last remaining money out of the HL engine before HL2 comes out.

I'll believe it when I can touch the box and I still won't buy it.

I only see CS as enjoyable for multiplayer and that will be the same thing I'm playing now. I have no interest in a single playere CS game myself, although I was excited a couple of years ago when it was supposed to come out..

Yeah, I've heard the possiblity that both of those games will be out in March as well. Simply put, Cheater-Strike doesn't measure up to either.

The screen shots that I have seen show that the CS engine is dated and out of touch with the new technology that is in development and on the shelf right now. unless they update the engine and also physics in a major overhaul, then CS:CZ will not arriving on my hard drive anytime soon.

My money is being saved for UT2K4, HL2, D3 and BF:Vietnam. These four games should keep my BFG mouse and video card busy many late nights throughout the week and weekend. Anything else will just be for personal interest, not because their game is so ground breaking.

Ground breaking games are coming often these days. Gaming engines are making the world we play in more and more real as the years go by. condition Zero doesn't look like anything is ground breaking to me. It looks just like a warmed over Half-Life engine with some new player skins.

Nope, I'll save my money for other games that look and play better and actually break the barrier between what is reality and what is not.

later,

I have seen some of the videos and they are jsut amazing...

The engine they use is just ungodly huge and makes anything else look tiny, even battlefield....

Far Cry is pretty hard on the box though, the demo itself really needs 500 megs of RAM to itself to run smoothly, I was lagging at times when my 512 stick would max out.
