Big Downgrade. The 6800 series can handle a fill rate upwards of 6.4 billion textels per second, while the 4000 tops out at 1.2 billion per second.
Additionally, the MX 4000 series is aimed at the budget 64 to 128 meg crowd, whereas the 6800 series is aimed at the 128 - 256 game enthusiast market.
Stick with the 6800, or if you want to upgrade, look towards the 7600, which are getting ready to hit the market and are meant to be a replacement card for 6800's or do the big upgrade to the 7800, which is Nvidia's top of the line current offering.
