18. Empire Earth and EE: The Art of Conquest
19. Unreal Tournament
20. Unreal Tournament 2003
21. Unreal Tournament 2004 ... recommended mods include Deathball, Air Buccanneers, and Red Orchestra (RO is my preferred WW2 game)
22. Diablo 2 and D2: Lord of Destruction (only if Phil is involved .... he could be our own personal tutorial and human walkthrough)
23. Dungeon Siege (This would be another fun RPG to play coop)
24. Warcraft 3 and WC3: Frozen Throne
25. Freelancer
29. Total Annihilation (Rickey ????)
30. Warcrat 2 and WC2: Beyond the Dark Portal
33. X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter and XvT: Balance of Power........I have X-Wing Alliance which is my preferred version
35. Neverwinter Nights, NWN: Shadows of Urentide and NWN: Hordes of the Underdark (This would be really sweet with enough people)
40. Half Life 2 Deathmatch and Counterstrike: Source

Ok, here's the games I have from Kyle's list (assuming Mizzouri says there's enough room for me to come and no conflicts in schedule come up). Here's also a couple other games that come to mind.

Age of Mythology
Battlezone
Star Wars Battlefront
Splinter Cell 2
Sacred
Decent 1 & 2 (think these are freeware now)
Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight (ahhh the old Bespin action.....)

Edit:
It would be really nice if we had a list of about 10 games that we said would DEFINITELY be played during the lan. Of course there could be other side games, but just so we make sure everything is installed and ready.

Here's something else interesting. If you go to the mainpage of Fileplanet, there is apparently a free expansion for R6 3. I'm downloading it now and will let you all know.

So, it looks as though we will be playing some Battlefield 2 on Saturday afternoon/evening. Rickey is addicted already. But .... a word of warning .... if the game starts becoming a monotonous repeat of the same people doing the same things and the same teams winning over and over again, I reserve the right to call it quits and have us move on to something else.

So, Friday night, the old crew (you know who you are) will meet up at Patrick's at 7'ish ... 8'ish (???) and will get set up and play some old school. Nothing released after 2002. How about some Rogue Spear till our fingers bleed, and then try the Duke Nukem 3D win32 port for some laser tripwire and jetpack deathmatch action, and maybe some original UT classic deathmatch maps. RTS flavor for the evening could include AoE or AoE 2 with expansions. Saturday morning, we will go out for breakfast somewhere in Blue Springs and fuel up for the next 18 hours.

Saturday, the world at large (up to capacity) will arrive at Patrick's 11'ish ... Noon'ish and start setting up for the afternoon/evening/early morning carnage. Games on Saturday afternoon look like they will revolve around games with higher player limits. Battlefield 2 for sure, maybe RB63: Raven Shield (large coop with high terrorist count on elite), maybe some UT2004 (either vanilla or modded), and whatever RTS games we can get going ... Cossacks 2, Rise of Nations, Empire Earth 2, etc .... Sometime early Sunday morning, we will call it quits and return to our normal unexciting lives.

I am soooooo looking forward to this weekend. Gonna be fun to hang out with everyone again.

Yup.

As far as Friday goes you can start showing around 7ish, but I won't be gaming until 8:30 (Bonzo's bedtime). I'm hoping for some RTS action that night as well, and I do agree that we'll play nothing that came after 2002.

On Saturday we can kick in to all the newer games but unless we have a server copy we're going to run into fragmentation on the games we are playing. This is something I want to avoid at ALL costs. I really don't enjoy having 16 people over and having 7 in my game while 9 others do 6 other things. The purpose of my LANS is that we all game TOGETHER as long as possible. As such I will continue to move to a more strucutred setup. My current thinking is to list the games and the times they'll be played. As always I'm open to constructive thoughts in advance.

P.S. Should we make Friday invite only???

I think Friday night should be only the old school names .... Rockhound, Rikus_Khan, S.Plisken, Mizzouri, Krogue, Mojo_Jojo, Burn_Pilot, and Jimmer. That would basically be almost all the people from the early AP LANs that are still around and active. That would also be the main group I am coming back to see (minus a couple of newbies like Chris).

So, let's just plan on those individuals.

Also, if these people show up, that would be 8 players, which should be perfect for most of the old games.

It is 12:43 a.m. on Wednesday morning ... and I now have 29 of the 42 listed games installed and patched up to current versions.

And for the record, both Hall of Giants and Two Towers are in my UT maps folder ready for some action.

Hey, I'd really really like to do some flight sims. Either X vs Tie or Microsoft's Combat Flight sim. What do you think?

X vs Tie would be awesome, make sure poeple have a joystick though, as the game won't run without one.

I will have XvT ready to go. I don't have MS Combat Flight Simulator.

Freelancer is ready to go as well. That is a fun one.

We could just combine both of those games and get the Star Wars total conversion for Freelancer. That way those with no joysticks could enjoy Star Wars flying fun. Of course, if you don't want to do that, I still recommend X-wing Alliance over XvT. Superior game overall, you can set up huge battles with the quick editor.

Do we have either of these in a distributable format? Let's explore this more on friday night.

I'm going to take a look at the demo for a new RTS later today: Knights of Honor. The demo can be played in multiplayer and looks promising.

Burn,

I would love to do the Freelancer total conversion. That game kicks ass. Do you remember if there was a CD key with Freelancer install? If not, I can just mount the image, and others can install it and mount the image with DaemonTools or Alcohol. Or, they can get the no-CD crack from GCW to play.

Well, only 35 more hours until start. See you old farts tomorrow and everyone else on Saturday.
