Laptop LCD MOD quote:

Has anyone tried or seen information on converting a laptop's LCD to a PC compatible display?

If you mean using the laptop as a monitor for the computer, then I'm not sure how you would go about this, I know how to use a monitor as a laptop display, but I don't think any laptops I know of have a male monitor out.

If I understand him correctly and based off of your statement. Taking a LCD from an old laptop and turning it into a flat panel display that can be used on any system...

I dunno about guides on how to do it, darn near impossible with all the different manufacturers, but I've seen quite a few of them done on the internet. Typically the toughtest part is wiring/mounting of the inverter module (i.e. HIGH VOLTAGE that will put you on, if not under, the ground ).

Yeah. I want to get a signal like that first, and then see what I can do with it as a mod. I am looking at using it as a second monitor that would become part of my solid side of my case. Then try to get a second display out of it - like using ATI's hydravision. If I can pull that off, I could probably pull off some cool stuff. But, firstly is getting the old laptop display to show a picture from my computer. I have all the parts.
