Adopters of today's wireless system (802.11b in this case) may be happy to know that Toshiba America is planning on releasing a Wireless Cable Modem. The device will be both DOCSIS (I'd assume 1.1 as it wasn't mentioned in the report) and WECA certified and will include a built-in 4-port 10/100 switch. Not satisfied with that feature-set alone, they will also be including router/gateway functionality (VPN-1/FireWall-1 solution from Check Point Software Technologies) into the device. Look for the device to start showing up sometime in late October.
