Well, no worries now as ATI announced a trade-up program today which will allow Canadian (eh?) and U.S. customers to obtain a brand new ATI graphics card at discounted prices by swapping in their old model, irreguardless of its brand. Word:
The trade-up program is a bonanza for customers as it offers them a quick path to the latest and greatest technology from ATI," said Rick Bergman, Senior Vice President, Marketing and General Manager, Desktop, ATI Technologies Inc. "Customers are finding the simple and swift ordering process a great bonus."No specifics on what savings you can expect, but anything would be better than shelling out another $400 for a a new one right?
Boards currently available through the trade-up program include the RADEON™ 9700 PRO, the RADEON™ 9000 PRO, the ALL-IN-WONDER® RADEON™ 8500, and the RADEON™ 7000 and RADEON™ 8500 MAC EDITION. ATI will consistently update and expand this list based on customer feedback.
ATI will send customers their new board in advance to install and work with. Once satisfied, they return their older board for a significant trade-in credit that is applied to their credit card purchase.
