True Crime Follow-Up

Once again, something you won't find on the websites, but True Crime for the PC looks to be hitting as (re)scheduled about May 11. Actual delivery date in a certain retailer's system is May 13. If you missed my original post, you can review it here. Additionally, this version of the game will include exclusive character skins. According to GameSpot, "These skins will consist of several all-star cast members from Activision's lineup, including characters from titles like Pitfall: The Lost Expedition, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Tenchu, Call of Duty, and the Tony Hawk franchise". So, not only will it be on a better system, but we'll have stuff the consoles don't get! Granted, it's not a lot of stuff, but it's something!

For those who have been waiting anxiously to play the hit game, True Crime: Streets of L.A., on PC, you'll have to wait some more. The release date looks to have been pushed back to May 11. Naturally, none of the big retailers have anything about this version on their websites, but I'll try to check back on this. You might be able to catch a commercial on television that shows some pretty outstanding gameplay footage. Otherwise, feel free to check out IGN's preview, complete with their usual media page chock full of screenshots and video footage. Also, here's a copy of the original press release from January.

Activision's True Crimes: Streets of L.A. will sound better than ever after new additions. The PC version will offer more than 115 music tracks which include artists like Alice in Chains, Queensryche, Snoop Dogg, Spineshank, Stone Sour, Static-X, Ice Cube and many more. The PC game will take the driving, fighting and shooting action online or LAN with all-new multiplayer features, as well as new weapons and unlockable characters. With the game play that True Crimes brings, and now this extensive soundtrack, this game goes on the one to watch list.

Top 10 Rented Games
- Posted 5:18 PM By WaRMaN

Rentrak has released their results of the top 10 rented games for the week ending Apr 25. Topping the list is NBA Ballers(PS2) with the XBOX version at 5th. Second place goes to the new release of Hitman: Contracts(PS2). Third is Splinter Cell: Pandora(XBOX), and fourth is Need for Speed: Underground(PS2). The last five in order are Rainbow Six 3(PS2), James Bond 007: Everything Or Nothing(PS2), Mafia(PS2), True Crime: Streets of LA(PS2) and NFL Street(PS2).

The high earner for the week was NBA Ballers, bringing in $302,095 from PS2 customers and $174,338 from XBOX customers for a total close to a half-million dollars! NBA Ballers is definately where it belongs, but there were a few games that I felt should of made the list that didn't: Tenchu(XBOX) and Fight Night 2004(PS2). FN2004 was definately overlooked as the same old Knockout Kings, but the gameplay is at a all time high for the franchise. Definately recommend you check it out.
