There has been a new version of the Half-Life Admin MOD. Here is some information of what they have added in release 2.10:
This version adds support for Arg1.0, Swarm and OpFor, and fixes support for FLF and Goldeneye 1.7. It adds a couple new scripting commands (list_maps(), get_serverinfo(),get_userinfo(),set_serverinfo()) and it fixes quite a few bugs. It *may* fix the w2k timer bug, please report any timer problems (voting failing to work, pretty message not showing up all the time) on the forums. This version also adds a new reserve type (type 2). See the config page for details.
They have even added MySQL support for the Win32 version this time. Head on over to the Admin MOD Download Section and get this release.

    HPB Bot Beta 4.1a Released
    - Posted 1:26 PM By Squirre1
EMail News to a Friend  Printer Friendly Version    0 Comments | Add
HPB Bot has been released at version 4.1a. This updated version is only necessary if your play the new Front Line Force MOD for Half-Life.
There's a bug in Front Line Force version 1.1 where the capture points are the wrong color for the first round after a map loads (they're RED before they are captured, but they should be BLUE). I've added a workaround to the HPB bot to handle this FLF 1.1 bug. This is the only change from HPB bot Beta 4.1.
You can download this new version from here.

In an article over on Slashdot they said:
"This just came out, from Yahoo, 3Dfx has announced that they will be sold to NVidia as soon as the deal is approved by its shareholders. From the release, "After aggressively pursuing a wide range of options that take into consideration the interests of our creditors, our shareholders, our employees and our customers," said Alex Leupp, president and CEO, 3Dfx Interactive Inc., "we strongly believe that to reduce expenses, sell our assets and dissolve the company provides the highest return to our creditors, shareholders, and employees." I think we all saw this one coming. For more details, go to the press release." Actually, tossing in some details early is [hk]doogie, who writes: "Nvidia bought the patents, pending patent applications, trademarks, brand names, and chip inventory related to the graphics business of 3dfx. Get the full scoop that I have from [here]."
Not like we didn't know this was going to happen, but it was a little bit earlier than expected. Later 3Dfx

It's about time. After god knows how long they have released a final patch for Urban Operations. Some of the fixes are listed below:
    General
  • Cover, Defend, and Snipe waypoints now appear correctly on the in-game map.
  • The mouse look setting should no longer get reset to its original value if you change it from within the action phase.
  • Smoke grenades should now show the smoke grenade model when in a player's hand.
  • "Double Bluff" victory conditions have been fixed so that if a terrorist kills a hostage, both teams lose.
  • The AIs will no longer stop following their plan if the leader gets killed during a Cover, Snipe, or Defend plan step.

    Multiplayer
  • Fixed a crash on game start when someone chose the "Electronics"
    specialty.
  • CLARIFICATION: The IP address of the displaying machine is shown in the session screen. The server's IP address shows on the server machine, and the clients see their own IP addresses.

    Mod System
  • Fix the built-in mods to only show up in the interface when appropriate.
  • Fixed the MaxOperatives.txt and MaxTerrorists.txt files to be case
insensitive on the mission file names.

    Movement / Combat Model
  • Fixed the "can't fast sidestrafe while zoomed" to "can't fast sidestrafe while zoomed a lot". It now works identical to the run restriction.
  • You can download the new patch from here.

    The Dark Elves Are Here!!!
    - Posted 6:13 PM By Krogue
EMail News to a Friend  Printer Friendly Version    0 Comments | Add
For all of you old die-hard Warcraft fans the announcement has been made. Blizzard has announced that the final playable faction in Warcraft III (slated for June 2001 release, which means Blizzard will get it to us by Christmas) will be DARK ELVES. A splinter group of elves that do not make their home on Azeroth will join the battle against the demon horde (or will it be with them?). The developers say that the Dark Elves will be a combination of traditional Wood Elves and Drow Elves. The base peon units will be called "ents", and unlike other races, they will actually become the Dark Elf buildings. Instead of building a unit, or building, they will grow
    into that form.

Just for past info, the other playable factions/races will be:
  • The Alliance (Humans, High Elves, and Dwarfs)
  • The Orcish Hordes (Orcs, Trolls, and Taurens)
  • The Burning Legion (Demons)
  • The Scourge (Undead)
  • To find out more about the upcoming game, you should check out Gamespot's extensive previews and reviews section at this ZDNet link. Gamespots previews go into great depth about the new spell hierarchy and how Heroes will more dramatically affect the outcome of missions and campaigns.

Hey Rikus Khan, Mizzouri, Squirrel, Raven, Scooby, and Bob!!!

Are you tired of hurling the same old boring retail manufacturer provided taunts at each other during your hours-long Age of Kings bitch-slapping sessions? Check out Heaven Games gigantic collection of custom taunts for AoK. You can see all the taunts here.

You can get all of the taunts in one big zip file, or download just the ones you want. The list includes everything from Classic Star Wars "Artoo said the chances of survival are 755 to 1" to South Park "Respect my Authority". Check it out, it could make Mizzouri's cavalry rushes entertaining even as he draws and quarters your king.

All I can say is WOW, you thought Age of Empires II: Age of Kings was sweet. You need to check out Cossacks. From the makers of Sudden Strike, CDV, they have put together a game that is well on its way to overthrowing the hype of AOE. With a max unit count of 8000 units on the playing field at one time, it could very well do it.

We have been playing the 1.02 Demo with no lockups and very awesome gameplay. You can download the demo from here out of the MWGL Downloads section.
