AvP2 Team Patch
- Posted 8:42 AM By Kagato
EMail News to a Friend  Printer Friendly Version    0 Comments | Add
The Aliens vs. Predator 2 team from Monolith has released their first patch for AvP2 which was just recently released and should be in full swing at your local stores by tomorrow. Here's a list of what's fixed:
  • Fixed the crash bug on the Join screen.
  • Added a "[D]" to the end of server names that are dedicated.
  • Added player rename functionality mid-game (ie. ' Spanky').
  • Added PageUp and PageDown support to the server list.
  • Added mouse wheel support to the server list.
  • Added double-click join support to the server list.
  • Fixed a couple of bugs that could cause long waiting times on the server list menu.
  • Made it so you can hit Escape to cancel the Internet server list refresh.
  • Fixed a problem causing the Alien tail to get stuck in the charged position.
  • Fixed it so hitting the reload button after firing a pulse rifle grenade will cause the bullets to reload; previously it did nothing.
  • Fixed a problem with pickup objects that give you multiple ammo types.
  • Fixed a bug when opening the weapon chooser during a charged weapon attack.
  • Chestbursting from a Corporate player now results in a Runner Alien.
  • Chat messages are now hidden while the weapon chooser is open (mainly for Predators).
  • Get in there soldier!

The story will be told through a series of animated 15-minute movie episodes that will feature central characters from the game, and it will give players hints about upcoming in-game events and new game content. The first movie episode can be downloaded from the official Anarchy Online story Web site.

    Ghost Recon Interview

EMail News to a Friend  Printer Friendly Version    0 Comments | Add
MGON has posted an interview with Darren Chukitus, Producer at Red Storm Entertainment. Here's a little bit of it for you:
MGON: How sophisticated is the enemy AI?

Very. The AI in Ghost Recon, both team and enemy threats, will respond like no other game before. Many times I find myself playing with what I feel is a flawless strategy, only to have suppression fire laid down on my position from the front, and simultaneously be flanked from the left and grenades launched from my right. Team AI can follow different ROE’s by the use of on the fly commands.
All, in all, it looks like one awesome game. Hopefully, we'll be having some LAN excitement with this, as well as the recently released Operation Flashpoint that I know several of you are playing.

Medal of Honor : Allied Assault Preview

EMail News to a Friend  Printer Friendly Version    0 Comments | Add
Based upon their viewing at a recent EA tour, Gamespy posted a new preview of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Included in the preview are some in-game screenshots and mention that a multiplayer demo will be available later this year. Here's what they have to say:
Visually, the game left us speechless. Even though the mission took place at night, we were able to see complex textures and shading on the walls and ground and particle effects from gun and machine gun fire and dynamic lighting coming from varied light sources. It truly was a visual delight. The soldiers moved more realistically in this rev then in previous demos. Instead walking in a stiff manner, soldiers had more of a realistic bounce to their step, some were even ducking to get out of harms way. In addition, the inside corridor areas were also extremely detailed. Everything from the wall textures to the interactive objects in the storage rooms and barracks -- it was all good. The user interface has also been streamlined making it easier to see what weapons you have.
    Definately on the "must-have" list.

Are You Ready for Some Football

Have you ever played NFL Blitz for console or PC? Have you ever wanted that action in your Quake 3 Arena playing? Well wait no further! The folks over at Q3 GRIDIRON have a MOD that is sure to satisfy your thirst for football and Quake 3. Q3 GRIDIRON places you on 1 of 15 different maps, all similar to a football field. There is a plain jane football field map, to full blown teleporters and jump pads. The map themes have a great feel to them. It's like playing in an actual arena, and who couldn't love playing Q3 with music like Led Zepplin cranking in the background!

The game starts out with the offence taking the ball. They have so many seconds to get down the field and score. Getting down the field isn't as easy as it sounds, because both teams are equiped with weapons to fight with. The offence can either run or throw (yes throw) the ball downfield. Unlimited passing can make the game very exciting. After the offence gets down the field, they have the option of trying to break it on into the endzone for 6, rocket jump through the uprights for 7, or kick the ever hard fieldgoal for 3. This all is available if you don't get picked off!

I could go on and on about this awesome MOD, but you must head over to their site and see all the goodies this MOD has. Download here, and I'll see you on the GRIDIRON!

    Ghost Recon Preview

EMail News to a Friend  Printer Friendly Version    0 Comments | Add
The folks over at The Wargamer have posted a new preview of Ghost Recon. So, if you just can't get enough of that beautiful eyecandy, you'll want to head on over and check it out. Not convinced? Read this:
From the very first mission, veteran Rainbow Six players will notice the amazing amount of freedom offered by the large Ghost Recon maps. No longer are players locked into one or two entry points and forced to assault along hallways to take down Tangos at sub-20m ranges. Instead, combat takes place in mountainous terrain using the maximum effective range of a variety of weapons to achieve strict mission goals. It requires a complete rethink in equipment loads and tasks, and a lot more reliance on the other team members to cover their arcs and aim true.
Oh, right...you want the link? Well, okay. Here it is.

HomeLAN Fed previews Codename: Outbreak, the tactical sci-fi shooter from GSC GameWorld and Virgin Interactive based on playing the European version of the game that's due on American shores later this month. They also have four new screenshots from the full European version of the game. Here is a snip:
The game’s sci-fi story is very similar (some might even say it’s a rip-off) to the classic Robert A. Heinlein novel “The Puppet Masters”. In the near future fragments of a comet impact the Earth. These fragments somehow contain alien life forms that attach themselves to any human hosts they can find. The player’s overall mission is pretty straightforward: take out the aliens before they take over the planet.
Check out the rest of the story.

    Syrinx 2.5 Released
    - Posted 8:06 AM By Anthos
EMail News to a Friend  Printer Friendly Version    0 Comments | Add
ZOD sends word that a new version of Syrinx Mod for Tribes 2 has been released.
The Temples of Syrinx are proud to introduce Syrinx 2.5 along with new Syrinx HUD and Syrinx Cycler client scripts. That's right, we have finally licked the instability problems that have been plaguing us for months now. Apparently one of the problems had to do with the new Sierra patch and its lame random CRC checking which unknown to us at the time can not be defeated on the datablock level. We have fixed this by removing a custom texture we were using for our deployable Ammo Stations.

This release adds a unique feature, when you deploy a Spider Clamp turret and then switch the barrel that is installed on it, the name of the Spider Clamp changes to reflect what barrel is currently installed.

We have also fixed yet another Dynamix mistake regarding the sounds played when a mortar turret fires. Dynamix apparently named the Missile Turret and Mortar Turret fire sounds the same thus negating the Mortars sound. We have corrected this mistake and now you get to hear what the Mortar Turrets fire sound was really supposed to be!

We would like to hand a huge thank you to KiKiN and Corneo for beta testing our multiple fix attempts over the last month, giving us valuable feedback. We would also like to thank the players that have stuck with the mod through this horrible time, without them, we probably would have given up on Syrinx. Thanks guys!

Total Video Games has posted an interview with Chris Metzen, the creative director on World of Warcraft. Here's part:
    It sounds big!!

Yes, I can’t give you an exact size of the world but it will have around 6 major continents and to compare that most people have seen Warcraft II and that only had 2 major continents! You will have a much grander sense of scale and of the world!

On offer there will be fully customisable character classes, innovative races, and thousands of weapons to allow for a truly diverse gameplay experience that will appeal to both hard-core and novice gamers alike. A simple, intuitive user interface will allow players of various skill levels to easily join the adventure. World of Warcraft also features support for advanced graphics hardware, giving the player superlative graphical enhancements, as well as a sophisticated, massively multiplayer network architecture capable of supporting thousands of players in a world simultaneously.
So go on over and check it out. If you still don't know what I'm talking about, World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer online RPG set in the Warcraft Universe and takes place after Warcraft III. So, like I said, check it out.

Ever run into the problem of losing your Diablo II character because you didn't play it for a certain amount of time? Well, with this lovely little utility, you worries are no more. Take a look at this:
There's a new Diablo II and Lord of Destruction utility on the front, as we're now featuring Paladin's Realm Character Guardian program. This nifty little tool comes in a very small download, but it's a great way to keep track of the Realm characters you don't play very often. Battle.Net servers automatically delete Realm characters if they've been inactive for more than 90 days; but, with the use of this program (which doesn't require any account information), you'll have no worries about that. Find out exactly how the program works, and download it from its corner in our Files section.
Sounds like that's a program worth checking out, especially if you have long periods of inactivity in the Battle Realms.

    Hitman 2 Preview And Q&A

EMail News to a Friend  Printer Friendly Version    0 Comments | Add
GameSpot has posted up a new preview of Hitman 2, the upcoming third person action game from IO Interactive and Eidos. There is also a Q&A with the lead designer of the game Jacob Andersen. Here is a snip:
GS: How many missions will be included? Will they be as large as the ones in the first game?

JA: There are currently 20 missions plus training levels in the game, split into six different chapters. We aimed at making them a bit smaller and more intense than some of the larger missions in Hitman, like the Budapest hotel killing and the Lee Hong assassination. But somehow, we still seemed to end up with pretty large missions. Not that you have lots of objectives, though, as most of the levels are pretty simple. For example, the agency wants this guy cold, and you have to make him that way. It's just that when we start building the levels, new ideas pop up and the level grows--not in size, but in complexity.

The Adrenaline Vault has posted up an extensive interview with Gearbox Software head man Randy Pitchford as he talks about their upcoming single player version of Counter-Strike, subtitled Condition Zero. Here is an excerpt of what you can find:
Playing through each of the Condition Zero missions with just one of the Special Forces teams will provide about 15-20 hours of gameplay. To be able to access all of the weapons and equipment and unlock all of the hidden scenarios, you'll want to play through the missions with each of the five teams. So, to complete everything the game has to offer in single-player mode can take much more than 60 hours. Then, you may want to try the missions cooperatively with friends. Of course, there's also endless play time with the online game, especially when you consider new features Condition Zero adds like additional weapons, new scenarios and game modes, new technology enhancements, and High Definition model upgrades.

6.59 Will there be a list of available jobs for those that want to find them?

We're working on making a list of identifiable and obvious "professions" that characters can pursue. We definitely want you to have some ideas about what you want to do in the game, even when you first start out. Some "professions" might remain hidden from starting players.
Also available is some information from the developer's board about character customization and factions.

    Making WindowsXP Boot Faster

For those early adopters who have already switched to Windows XP, there's a nifty little tool called BootVis that can help make XP boot even faster (as if it wasn't quick enough). To run it, simply perform the following :
  • Close all running applications
  • Extract the bootvis.exe file from the downloaded archive.
  • Run bootvis.exe and go to File -> New -> Next Boot + Driver trace (machine will reboot)
  • After machine reboots and loads, BootVis optimizes the boot process of your computer - Voila!

I didn't really see much of a difference after running it on my PC, but then again I've got the services/memory pretty tweaked as it is (49MB used by OS on clean boot), your mileage may vary.

Planet Deus Ex has posted up a lengthy development update on Deus Ex 2 from Ion Storm Austin's Harvey Smith, along with some concept artwork from the upcoming action-RPG sequel. Here's part:DX2 will feature a much higher poly count for architecture and models than players saw in the first Deus Ex game. Plus, the models are fully boned and are being animated with a skeletal IK system, allowing for more animations and higher quality (motion captured) animations. The effects are really satisfying and reach into many areas of the game, improving it in both high-impact and subtle ways. For instance, we always wanted characters to have facial expressions, but could not afford it until now; we believe this feature alone will seriously improve the quality of the game's conversations and character interactions.Go have a look see.

Producer Darren Chukitus sits down and answers some questions after wrapping up Ghost Recon. Here's a preview for ya
IGNPC: Let's talk about design. At what point does extreme realism stop being fun? When do you say, "This is realistic but it's maybe not the experience we want the player to have?" How did you compromise reality for the sake of the gameplay?

Darren Chukitus: Put it this way. There are a lot of systems that we use in the game -- weaponry, the command map -- that are great. But what sense is it for me to allow a guy to snipe across the full distance of the map? It just doesn't make any sense. A lot of people were concerned that Ghost Recon was going to be a snipe fest. You'd have these outdoor environments and people were just going to camp and snipe and that's definitely not the case.
Go check out the rest of the story.

    Deus Ex 2 Preview

PC.IGN has a small preview with a couple of screenshots of the sequel to Deus Ex, previous Game of the Year.
As good as the gameplay was, Warren is committed to pushing it into new directions. The team's goal is to craft a "much more robust simulation on all levels." This means creating a wider range of natural reactions on the part of the NPCs to the player's actions. The ability of the player to feel like he or she is in control of his or her own destiny is paramount. There were far too many pre-scripted events in Deus Ex -- moments where the game took over and forced the player into or out of particular situations. But although the goal is to make "the game world work the way the real world works" the team ardently follows the rule of all good game designers: "Anytime reality gets in the way of fun, fun wins."
So, head on over and enjoy the preview.

If you still haven't had enough of Ghost Recon before you can buy it, you'll definitely want to check this out. 3DActionPlanet has put up a new preview of Red Storm's military shooter.
One thing Rainbow Six fans will notice is that there's no longer any pre-planning phase before a mission. You can assign operatives to various squads (or have the game auto-assign them for you), and give general orders once in the field. These include, "hold", "advance" (where the squad will continue forward until meeting opposition), and "advance at all costs", which you can use in the direst of situations.
Go on over and get your fill.

So you've pre-registered to get you brand spankin' new XBox when it's released this Thursday. Now how do you pass the time? You could get yourself more psyched about the system by reading the Adrenaline Vaults' preview of Tecmo's new Dead or Alive 3. Here's a snip of just how good this game is:
Dead or Alive 3 will be the title that moves the X-Box on impulse purchases; the graphics ensure that countless store owners will be grinning maniacally as their clientele gape helplessly at its demonstration matches. Cranking up the polygon counts to about 20,000 per character, this arcade fighter stretches more detail over a forearm than the original Virtua Fighter could display at any given time. Close examination of the characters allows you to discern carefully designed texture work that indicates not only the coarseness and type of fabric, but also the physique underneath. Each character's hair, accessories and clothing in general moves with them and animates with physics real enough to make you cringe when your fighter slams face first into a nearby wall.
I'm not much for fighting games anymore, but this one is just stunning!

Now things get kicked into high gear with Intel's release of the Intel Pro/Wireless 5000 LAN Access Point and adapters. Based on the 802.11a standard, these puppies have a throughput of up to 5x faster than 802.11b and operate in the 5 GHz spectrum (2.4 GHz for 802.11b). The access point is a tad more expensive (about $500) than current 802.11b models (around $200 now) but for those who need the newest playtoy, price won't matter much. With optional equipment, these are also backwards compatible with current 802.11b installations.

For those who found VoodooExtreme a daily dietary staple for gaming information have probably been confused as to why it has not been reachable for nearly a week. Billy "Wicked" Wilson, founder of Voodoo Extreme, has turned away from VE, for reasons unknown, and started up a new site named GamingGroove. Here's a word from the man himself:
We're going to be doing something a tad bit different than at that 'other' site, we're going to give our posters a chance to fill in time slots that they would like to -- we do have a schedule, but it's flexible, and most want to try, at one point or another, a different time slot. We'll see how that works out. I'll continue to do the first post of the morning, but don't be surprised if another jumps right on after me. Other than that, the launch went better than I could have hoped for, not too many bitches, which is a good thing. So, let's get back to doing what we enjoy (no, leave the dead horse out of this)...

EMail News to a Friend  Printer Friendly Version    0 Comments | Add
Looks like there's been a slight change in release timing for the next patch (v1.40) for WWII Online. The reasoning for the delay is that they have apparently figured out the cause between the CTD (Crash to Desktop) error. Here's the beef:
Well the fix is done, and being tested now. We had planned on getting 140 out this week, but we are going to delay in order to make sure this fix gets in. I cannot promise that this kills the last of the CTDs, but I will guess that it’s going to dramatically reduce the amount of folks getting bumped off the game.
We are very confident in this fix, and are taking some extra time to make sure it gets to you guys and makes WWIIOL a more stable experience. So in short, 140 is getting pushed back a tad, but promises lots more stability.
Stability gooood, Crash to Desktop baaaad.

There's an interesting Quake 3 MOD in the works called Maldavria (actually Beta 1 was released today, head there for the download links). The game has a medieval look to it, with large stone temples and structures, and a new character map that gives you the feel of being a Greek god. And just what do you do with these Gods/Godesses?
The primary objective is to simply obliterate the opposing race so that your God(ess) can control the Artifacts forever. However, both races are protected by their God(ess), so that when they die, their souls are saved and restored in a new body. By controlling the Artifact long enough, your God(ess) can remove the opposing races soul protection for a short time. This is known as Zen'Devol, which means "the harvest of souls". When the game ends, the race whom have destroyed the most number of souls wins.

I love Age of Star Wars, I mean Star Empires. Whatever it's called, I dig it. I've used the "two great tastes that taste great together" metaphor quite a few times in the past but I was wasting it; this is the game that that phrase is made for. A lot of people will tell you that Galactic Battlegrounds is based off of Age of Kings (known to the wider world as Age of Empires II). But despite their fancy education and their nice teeth, those people are liars. The fact of the matter is that Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds is pretty much Age of Kings right from the start.

This preview brought to you by the folks over at GameSpot. Here's a preview of the preview:
While Obi-Wan's control and gameplay have remained solid in spite of the game's change in platforms, the game's graphics reflect the travails of the switch with an uneven look. At present, the game doesn't appear to have completely shaken off its PC "look" when coming to the Xbox, resulting in blockier characters, noticeably bitmapped backgrounds, and stiff animation which will hopefully be smoothed out by the game's release. This makes for an uneven overall presentation as there are some very nice graphical features on display such as reflective water, self-shadowing on Obi-Wan, and light sourcing. However, to the game's credit, the environments are extremely large and expansive and the frame rate remains fairly high.

Apparently one lucky fellow got hold of an XBox develops kit and was able to port MAME to the XBox. Wonder if Microsoft would be interested in distributing this as a "feature". Mmmm mmmm good.

Return To Castle Wolfenstein Shelf Date News!

id Software's Todd Hollenshead has updated his .plan file to reflect some news about the imminent release of Return To Castle Wolfenstein:
"According to my sources at Activision, the following stores will have the game available tomorrow, Tuesday November 20:

    CompUSA
    Best Buy
    EB (USA)
    Gamestop
    EB (Canada)

If you pre-ordered the Tin, I think those should be available tomorrow in the locations listed above, but you may want to call ahead to make sure. If you didn't order a Tin, but would like to pick one up, I understand that a limited number may make their way to store shelves. I'm guessing that any available Tin boxes will disappear as soon as they hit the shelves.

The official strategy guide from Prima should be available this coming Friday, and they've done a really nice job on this one. If you've been following the news about Wolf, you know that there are a ton of secrets and easter eggs in the game not to mention the various tactical approaches you can take to a given scenario and the guide will take you through all of that.

I look forward to seeing a bunch of you on the servers tomorrow! Schnell! Schnell!
    Get there early!

For those of you still running with Voodoo (3dfx) based video cards and have been wanting to upgrade to XP but don't want to loose some of your compatibility (Glide, etc.), fret not, as there's a new set of drivers for XP (for Win9X and Win2K) as well. While these have not been officially released (heaven forbid nVidia would ever have a hand in it) they will provide users the ability to continue using their cards with the new OS.

    The Future of Tribes

Alex "Marweas" Rodberg, Sierra's TRIBES 2 brand manager, has offered some clarification on the future of Tribes 2 in a post over at the PlanetTribes Forums. Part of the reason behidn the message is due to some of the the recent changes at Sierra, including the departure of much of the team from Dynamix responsible for creating the game. Here's the word:
I know it's been a rough couple of weeks. The recent retirement of some notable teams and individuals from T2 was a disappointment to many including myself. The DoS attack on the authorization servers last week didn't make anybody's day either. The bug problems, the gameplay issues, the quitting and complaining – they’re enough to make anyone throw in their towel. Some even said the end was at hand.

    But it’s not.

Today Sierra stepped up and reaffirmed its commitment to the Tribes brand, and to their customers. The Tribes team received a go-ahead on a proposal that among other things includes a plan for addressing the remaining critical issues with Tribes 2. We want to eliminate UE’s, improve FPS, nerf the ELF a little, and fix other problems that prevent people from playing their game. There is more in the works that will make Tribers happy, but I know you’re not big on hype so we’ll get there when we get there.

Please understand that while this bodes very well for all of us, IT’S NOT YET A PROMISE OF A PATCH. I cannot commit to that until we sign a contract with the developer. It is still possible for the negotiations to go south or some other obstacle to arise. I’ve promised to play straight with you and this is how it is.

I don’t have an estimate for how long the negotiations and signing will take, but we’re looking for a speedy turn-around. I will update as I can given the typical restrictions during a contract negotiation.

    vvo - Alex

"Sweep all out and bust up!"
I still prefer loading up a good 'ol game of Tribes (first one). It may not have the graphics engine like todays games, but it's still fun as heck.

There is a new MOD for Q3 which tosses you deep in the jungle of Vietnam. Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) supports four different modes of play: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Mission Mode, and Campaign Mode. The maps in the MOD are very original, and detailed. The overall gameplay is realistic. You will break your legs on a fall, and not be able to move fast. Sounds matched with models were well thought out as well. The realistic sounds, and graphics will let you know this is a MOD with full potential. Although this MOD is in it's beta stages, look for it to become a classic.

Not quite ready to dump your old Intel 440BX chipset powered machine but would like to add more power? Powerleap has again released a that allows you to enjoy the latest Intel P6-based processor, without tossing your old board out. The PL-iP3/T Slot 1 to Tualatin adapter provides all the necessary voltage controls in order to provide for the correct GTL+ bus and core voltages of the Tualatin chips. It even supports the Pentium III-S models in SMP. They also provide a list of current tested boards that are compatible. The only downside I see to such a product is that you miss out on other technologies such as DDR memory and some of the newer IDE interfaces (Ultra-100, etc.) of which I suppose you could disable onboard and get a Promise adapter instead.

    Linking XBox with GameSpy Tunnel

GameSpy has released GameSpy Tunnel, a nifty little application for connecting Microsoft System Link games (XBox) over the Internet. Games that are currently working with this are Halo, Tony Hawk 2x, and NASCAR Heat 2002. In order for this magic to work, you'll need:
  • Microsoft Xbox console
  • Any supported game (as listed above)
  • A fast broadband connection (At least 128kbps upstream, Halo can require up to 256kbps upstream bandwidth per player. You WILL experience lag and connection loss problems if this speed is not met. No modem support is available or planned - Go figure, in Microsoft's world, everybody has broadband)
  • A supported network configuration
  • Fairly simple from the looks of it, just make sure you got the speed.

Westwood will use a lottery system (think Powerball) to select the 1,500 testers from the applicants who meet the minimum system requirements (P4 2.4GHz, GeForce4, nothing too major). Westwood will notify the chosen testers within three days of the end of the signup period.

Quake III Arena fans rejoice! Alliance 3.0 has been relased for your downloading pleasure. Just what does this MOD bring to the plate? In their own words:
Alliance is a fast paced, off-handed grapple mod for Quake III Arena. It can be played as 1 vs. 1Tourney, FFA Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag or Hold the Flag (Our own invention). Alliance includes an array of custom models and sounds, admin and referee features, plus the best damn bots in any FPS ever. You think I'm exaggerating?
It can't be all that bad, PC Gamer says "If you install one Quake III: Arena mod, make it this one.". Nuff said.

    Intel To Introduce Terahertz Chips?

Here's a snazzy article over at MSNBC discussing Intel's introduction to the technology behind chips that may eventually rate in the Terahertz. Exactly how fast is a chip rated in Terahertz?
Processors will contain a billion transistors (compared with 42 million today on a Pentium 4) switching off and on a trillion times a second. In human terms, it would take a person 15,000 years to flip a light switch a trillion times, Willoner said. Current transistors top out at 100 billion operations per second
Ok, forget liquid cooled computers, I'm thinking hydrogen if not liquid oxygen to cool these puppies off!

Still running your machine on a 3dfx/Voodoo video adapter but wanting to upgrade? Looks as if PNY and NVidia have teamed up and are now offering a select form of rebates for Voodoo card owners:
Under the program guidelines, consumers who purchase a PNY Verto MX 400, GeForce2 Ti, or GeForce3 Ti 500 graphics card will receive a cash-back bonus ranging from $10 to $30, depending on the specific PNY Verto graphics card purchased, upon trade-in of their old 3dfx card. In addition, those who purchase a Verto GeForce3 Ti 500 by December 31, 2001, will receive an added bonus -- a pair of i-O Display Systems' 3D Smart Glasses, a $49.99 value. All Verto graphics cards come with PNY's lifetime replacement warranty and toll-free technical support.
Yeah, the idea of a $30 rebate towards a $300 video card is gonna get me to pony up my Voodoo 5500, pfft right!

Scheduled to start in April 2002, it is touted as being a 24/7 television network dedicated 100% to "the source of entertainment, news and information for video game enthusiasts." And now a quote:
"Over 145 million Americans play computer and video games," said Banse. "This diverse community needs representation on our channel line-up. Comcast has been an avid supporter of G4 from its earliest development. G4 is a totally unique programming service that will appeal to video gamers everywhere. We are delighted to be offering G4 to Comcast customers as well as making this channel available to cable and satellite distributors nationwide."

Microsoft's recently released XBox was the first system to be popped open, as can be seen here and here. Well, the same guy that probed into the XBox, has posted a Nintendo GameCube guide as he dives into Nintendo's newest offering. It's really some pretty impressive engineering. Simply amazing how they cram so much in to such a small box.
